Castello Maresi Griante

Villa Maresi was built on the ruins of an ancient medieval castle is part of the system of fortifications dating back to the Franco-Hispanic war that ended in 1529.

Pompeo Maresi bought the ruins and began a restructuring in which it would be maintained the appearance of a fortified structure. The project was entrusted to the engineer Giacomo Mantegazza who was sent at the expense of Maresi in Britain to study the English Gothic Revival style that considered him the most congenial for the restructuring.
