To help ensure that Explorelakecomo.com is compliant with the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we've updated some of our policies.

Explorelakecomo.com (“we,”, “us”, “our”) knows that you care how your persoanl data is used and shared by us. This Privacy Policy applies to the Explorelakecomo.com website including any subdomains (“Site”). It has a section for Explorelakecomo.com Visitors (people who visit our site to get information about Lake Como) and one for Explorelakecomo.com Customers (companies and organizations about which we make information available).

means advertising, promotional, marketing, and communication services that we offer our Customers.

means Explorelakecomo.com website including any subdomains.

Account Information

We collect and store the information that you supply (e.g. your name, email address, password, or similar) when creating an Account or when updating it from time to time.

Tracking Information

We use cookies and other technologies to track your browsing of the Site.

1.2 How We Use Visitor Personal Data

Emails

We use Account Information to send you Account Emails that are necessary for the operation of an Account (e.g. forgotten password and account registration confirmation). If you opted in when creating your Account, we use Account Information and Tracking Information to send you Information Emails that provide personalized information about events, services, or products that may be useful to you while travelling in general, or specifically while travelling in the Lake Como area.

Improved User Experience

We use Tracking Information to improve the user experience of the Site by remembering information so you don't have to re-enter it, and providing customized content, information, and advertisements. If you reject cookies, you may still use the Site, but the user expereience or functionality may be limited.

Aggregate Tracking

We use Visitor Personal Data to track aggregate site usage such as total number of Visitors, pages viewed, geography, demographics, and the effectiveness of marketing and promotional activities.

1.3 How We Share Visitor Personal Data

We will not intentionally disclose Personal Data to third parties without your consent except as described below.

Unrestricted Information

Any information that you voluntarily choose to include in a Public Area of the Site, such as a comment, will be available to all Visitors.

Google

We use Google Analytics to collect and process Tracking Information. Your Account Information is not shared with Google, but Google may use Tracking Information for its own purposes. For more information, contact Google which operates independently from us and has its own privacy policy.

MailChimp

We use MailChimp to send Information Emails.

Non Personally Identifiable Information

We may make aggregated, or otherwise non-personally-identifiable, Tracking Information available to third parties for various purposes, including (i) compliance with reporting obligations; (ii) business or marketing purposes; or (iii) to assist such parties in understanding our Visitors' interests, habits, and usage patterns for certain programs, content, services, and/or functionality available through the Site.

Law Enforcement, Legal Process and Compliance

We may disclose Personal Data or other information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with applicable laws, in response to a facially valid court order, judicial or other government subpoena or warrant, or to otherwise cooperate with law enforcement or other governmental agencies. Change of Ownership

Personal Data may be disclosed and otherwise transferred to an acquirer, successor or assignee as part of any merger, acquisition, debt financing, sale of assets, or similar transaction, as well as in the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership in which information is transferred to one or more third parties as one of our business assets and only if the recipient of the Visitor or Visitor Data commits to a Privacy Policy that has terms substantially consistent with this Privacy Policy.

1.4 Your Choices

Access, Correction, Deletion of Personal Data

You can access and correct Account Information at any time by logging into your account and going to “My Account“. Please note that while any changes you make will be reflected in active Visitor databases instantly or within a reasonable period of time, we may retain all information you submit for backups, archiving, prevention of fraud and abuse, analytics, satisfaction of legal obligations, or where we otherwise reasonably believe that we have a legitimate reason to do so.

Tracking Information

If you have an account, you may opt out from our proprietary collection of tracking information about your visit to the site by sending an email to privacy@Explorelakecomo.com. To opt out from the collection of tracking information about your visit to the Site by Google Analytics you must use the Google Analytics Opt-out feature.

Opting out of Commercial Communications

If you receive commercial emails from us, you may unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions contained within the email or by opting out by logging into your account, going to “My Account“ and updating your account details. You may also sendd an email to privacy@Explorelakecomo.com.

Please be aware that if you opt-out of receiving commercial email from us or otherwise modify the nature or frequency of promotional communications you receive from us, it may take up to ten (10) business days for us to process your request. Additionally, even after you opt-out from receiving commercial messages from us, you will continue to receive Account Emails.

Opting out of Account Emails

Account emails are necessary for the operation of an Account, therefore you cannot opt out of Account Emails. If you no longer wish to receive these emails, you must cancel your Account.


2. Customers

This section of the Privacy Policy explains what Personal Data we collect and store about our Customers, how it will be used and shared, and how Customers can control its collection, access it, correct it, or delete it.

2.1 Customer Personal Data We Collect

Researched Data

We store, process, and display data about our Customers that we have researched using publicly available online and offline sources (e.g. business name, location, telephone number, website address, email address).

Provided Display Data

Customers may opt in to provide us with additional personal data for display on the Site.

Provided Confidential Data

All other data a Customer provides to us.

2.2 How We Use Customer Personal Data

Emails

We use Customer Personal Data to send our Customers: (i) Administrative Emails to periodically verify or update the accuracy of the information we display about them; and (ii) Promotional Emails that promote our Service.

2.3 How We Share Customer Personal Data

We will not share Customer Personal Data except as described below.

Displayed on Our Site

Researched Data (with the exception of email addresses) and Provided Data is publicly displayed on our Site.

3. Third-Party Services

The Site may contain features or links to web sites and services provided by third parties (e.g. Facebook Comments, Booking.com). Any information Visitors or Customers provide on third-party sites or services is provided directly to the operators of such services and is subject to those operators' policies, if any, governing privacy and security, even if accessed through the Site. We are not responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of third-party sites or services to which links or access are provided through the Service.
