Villa Erba Cernobbio

Villa Erba is a 19th-century villa in Cernobbio, on the shores of Lake Como, Italy. It serves as a world-renown conference centre and was the filming location for Ocean’s Twelve in 2004 and Gwen Stefani's single "Cool". Villa Erba was built by Luigi Erba, brother of the prominent businessman Carlo Erba (founder of the first Italian pharmaceutical company), to show off his wealth. After his death, it was inherited by his daughter Carla and was used by Carla's family, including her son Luchino Visconti. In 1986, it was bought by a public consortium to use as an exposition and congress center.

Villa Erba: Sumptuous Architecture in a Luxurious Setting

In 2004, the villa served as a filming location for Ocean's Twelve. In 2005, Gwen Stefani shot the music video for her single Cool on the villa's grounds; in the same year, a leg of Anastacia's Live at Last Tour was hosted in the villa's park.

The International Conference and Exhibiti Centre of Villa Erba is situated at Cernobbio (Centro Internazionale Esposizioni e Congressi di Villa Erba). The Centre includes a large villa from the late nineteenth century on the lakefront and a large park with elegant glazed-windowed pavilions (11.000 sq m covered) hidden among the green, century old trees. The villa is extremely attractive, with wide stairways that descend towards the lake. It also has its own private dock so conference delegates can arrive by lake, offering them the unforgettable view of the villa from the water.

The exhibition pavilions (a main pavilion, three wings and two towers) offer a functional space of 6.500 square meters and can be divided into 280 stands at the most. The different sections can also be requested individually for meetings, courses etc. The main pavilion can hold more than 1.300 people and is equipped with mobile platforms that can be assembled in various formations.

Not open to the public but exhibit participants can visit the interior of the Villa including famed rooms of film maker Luchino Visconti.
