Next to Lenno’s parish church is the baptistery, dating back to the second half of the 11th century and dedicated to St. John the Evangelist. The outside is simple and plain, with a square bell-tower and an apse on the north side. On the left side of the parish church there is the baptistery, dating back to the second half of the 11th century and dedicated to St. John the Evangelist. The outside is simple and sober/plain, with a square bell-tower and an apse on the north side. The octagonal structure has a symbolic meaning: the number eight corresponds to the creation days plus the rising of Christ (the day of the new alliance with God). Interesting to note are also the gore vault, the three arches portal (two of them are blind arches) and the inside, where fragments of medieval frescoes and a painting baroque cycle are preserved.
