SS. Nabore e Felice Griante Like
The parish church is located next to the historical centre of the village of Griante. It was built at the beginning of the 18th century on the site of an ancient temple, that was probably consecrated by St. Felice, bishop of Como. The church has a simple structure with a single nave, a transept and two lateral chapels, dedicated to Our Lady. Worth seeing are some important paintings: a big and wonderful scene representing The Last Supper by an unknown artist, Our Lady of the Assumption by Maganza, a pupil of Tiziano’s, the very ancient fresco The Adoration of the Magi and two paintings representing the Martyrdom of the SS. Nabore and Felice by the painter Bellotti, both dating back to the 17th century. In this church Achille Ratti celebrated Mass many times – he was to become Pope Pio XI.
