Ghiacciaia di Moncodeno (Ice Cave) Esino Lario Like
The ice cave of Moncodeno is the most famous cave with glacial deposits in the Lombardia Region (even described by Leonardo Da Vinci). It is the symbol of the whole plateau of Moncodeno with its 1,190 m depth, it is one of the deepest caves in Italy that maintains a cool temperature and ice even in summer. Once used to supply the whole zone and quench cattle in case of drought. The entrance to the Ice can be reached without difficulty but a full cave visit requires proper equipment.
