Brunate Brunate Like
The town overlooks Como, some 500 metres below linked by a steep, narrow, winding road, and by the Como-Brunate funicular. The highlight of the trek is the lighthouse dedicated to Allesandro Volta who lived in Brunate for a short period. Brunate is also the starting point for a number of hikes: Walking back down to Como via Eremo di San Donato (15thc. monastery); Fonte del Pissarottino (lookout); Monte Bolettone (summit of Brunate); or a 7 hour hike to Molina with return to Como by bus or taxi boat.
