Breggia Gorge Park Morbio Inferiore Like
Extending along the Breggia river, this park is renown for its geological importance and was Switzerland’s first “geo-park”. The area is rich in fossils and evidence of ancient seas. Of historical interest is the Red Church (14th c.) and a castle (12th c.). Equally worthy of historical note is a mill, cement factory and a brewery which suggests the river may have had industrial use as early as the 17th century. With unique flora and fauna, the park makes for an interesting mix of attractions for all ages.
